How DealBrief compares - factually.

Searchland, LandTech (the company behind LandInsight), Nimbus and Property Filter are capable tools, and each is good at what it was built for. If you arrived here looking for a Searchland alternative or a LandInsight alternative, the honest answer depends on the job: for planning-led site sourcing they remain strong. The comparison below is about one specific question: who shows you the distressed owner before the property lists? Every claim here comes from the vendors' own published pages or public review sites, checked on 9 June 2026. If we've got something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it: hello@dealbrief.co.uk.

Pre-listing legal events
Receiver appointments, winding-up petitions, strike-off countdowns, bridging-loan maturity clocks - as dated events, not status labels

Companies House used as an ownership source; no distress-event product found
No distress signals found

Portal-derived signals (reductions, fallen-through, re-listings) - visible only after the property lists
Tired-landlord residential dataset

On Nimbus's distressed filter, specifically

Nimbus is the only other platform with a legal-distress feature, so it deserves a straight answer rather than an ✗. Its filter identifies companies currently in administration or receivership, or with late-filed accounts - a snapshot of status. DealBrief works at the event level, one stage earlier: the winding-up petition lands in The Gazette weeks before any insolvency status exists; the receiver appointment filing appears at Companies House before "in receivership" becomes a label; a strike-off has a statutory countdown you can plan around. By the time a company shows up in a status filter, the best moment to make contact has often passed.
